What would happen if our government genetically altered different species of animals in order to enhance their size, strength, aggression? And what if they then trained those animals to use in covert attacks against our nation’s enemies? Not the creation of mutant aberrations, but the genetic manipulation of common animals to make bigger, faster, stronger, and meaner… much bigger, faster, stronger, and meaner. What if they further ‘enhanced’ these animals and turned them into biological weapons?

Enter Jake Jessup, a sarcastic, alcoholic cop, and April Flowers, a spunky Food and Drug Administration Special Agent, an unlikely duo who join to do battle against the secret government entity behind these “animals of war.”

This isn’t science fiction. The technology is in use today. Genetically altered animals are no longer the thing of someone’s imagination or bad dreams. But can we, will we, control it before they become living nightmares?
